Meet The Team

Kyle Cox

Research Scientist

Kyle is a Research Scientist investigating a wide range of decarbonization, sustainability, and energy industry topics through problem focused research projects. His areas of expertise include Geology, Subsurface Energy Storage, CCUS, Climate Change Policy & Management, Sustainable Development, and O&G industry operations. He has experience working in technical and operations focused roles in the E&P and Utility industries.

Prior to joining Carbon Solutions, Kyle was at Consumers Energy where he worked on projects related to Energy Storage, CCUS, and natural gas storage. Kyle also spent 5 years at Chesapeake Energy where he served as a Sedimentary Geology Subject Matter Expert in the Geoscience Technology Group and a Development Geologist in the Appalachia Business Unit.

Kyle has a BS in Geological Sciences from The Ohio State University, a MS in Geosciences from Western Michigan University, and a Graduate Certificate in Climate Change Policy and Management from Western Michigan University where he focused on Long Duration Energy Storage research. He also served in the Ohio Air National Guard.
