Nathan Holwerda
Research Engineer
Nate is a research engineer working with DAC, carbon capture systems, and energy storage solutions. His expertise is in thermodynamic and economic modeling of power production systems and finding answers to complex, energy-based questions.
Before joining Carbon Solutions, Nate earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical concentration) from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. During his time there, he performed life cycle analyses (LCA) to assist in the CO2 and energy reduction of products and infrastructure. He has also spent time modelling thermodynamics and economics of power plant systems and optimizing power plant parameters to achieve both high performance and high profit.
