Sarah Henao

Research Associate

Sarah is a Research Associate developing public participation geographic information systems (PPGIS) and environmental justice metrics to advance equitable deployment of decarbonization technologies across multiple projects. Sarah’s main research interests are in how to use mathematical modeling, optimization, statistics, data analysis and data science to understand and reduce gaps regarding inequality and injustice in the public sector. Her passions include creating communicative data visualizations and data-driven innovations and working with interdisciplinary teams.

She holds a B.S. in mathematical engineering from Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, Colombia) and is currently a graduate student pursuing an M.S. in applied mathematics at the same university, where she is applying Bayesian computational modeling to parameter estimation for stochastic volatility models.

What Sarah enjoys the most is sitting in nature, drinking a hot coffee, and chatting!
